The Commisioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Favour Ikechukwu on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.<\/p>\n

Favour Ikechukwu, a 11 years old student was gang-raped to death by four men at Olanrewaju Street by some unscrupulous elements on 30th September, 2020 by 8.30pm, at Ejigbo area in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the victim, on returning from school was sent to buy a carton of gala, a popular snack from a nearby shop when four men lured her to a room and raped her to death.<\/p>\n

The suspects, realizing that the girl was dead, abandoned her and fled. The victim\u2019s father, Dickson Okechukwu on returning from work discovered her naked body in the room after a frantic search for her.<\/p>\n

CP Odumosu, who delivered the condolence message to the parent of the deceased, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Muhammed Abubakar Adamu, assured the family that the Nigeria Police would do the needful to apprehend every culprit in the barbaric act and get justice for Favour.<\/p>\n

He promised the family of police’s constant support, and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Yetunde Longe, who accompanied him to the family house, to deploy additional detectives from her office to go after the fleeing culprits with a view to arresting them promptly for prosecution.<\/p>

In another development, CP Hakeem Odumosu also addressed residents of Ejigbo Local Council Development Authority after commissioning the refurbished and newly constructed office complex at the Divisional Headquarters Ejigbo, Lagos State.<\/p>\n

The complex was refurbished and some new offices were built by the Chief Executive Officer of Grooming International Centre, Dr Godwin Nwabunka, who described his gesture as a reflection of the Community Policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police.<\/p>\n

He added that the gesture would help to achieve effective policing of Lagos State and Nigeria at large.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Chairman Ejigbo LCDA, Hon Oloyede Monsuru Obe, donated two Toyota Siena Buses to Ejigbo Division to boost its operational engagements and provide adequate security for all residents in the Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
