Niger State Government on Monday in Minna, said\u00a0 that all schools in the state shall be\u00a0 reopening on Sunday, 4th October, 2020 for the 2019\/2020 academic session,\u00a0 third term.<\/p>\n

This was\u00a0 as the state government expressed the determination\u00a0\u00a0 that all second term examinations conducted under duress were thereby canceled and ordered all teachers to return to their respective schools from Tuesday 29th September to commence preparations for the reopening.<\/p>\n

The State Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu\u00a0 stated this in an interactive session with the newsmen in her office, on the sidelines of a stakeholders meeting on resumption of non-exit classes of the basic and secondary schools.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the meeting, the state Commissioner for education stated further that the safe school reopening committee have submitted its\u00a0 final reports, noted that\u00a0 the 19 northern states Commissioners\u00a0 for Education\u00a0 also met in Abuja recently, stressing that the\u00a0 North Central States stakeholders also met in Lafia Nasarawa State for same purpose thereafter\u00a0 .<\/p>\n

According to her,\u00a0 various consultations were also made to discuss report of the Committee\u00a0 while they came up with certain resolutions.<\/p>\n

Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu, said, “the re-opening of all basic and post basic classes of public and private institutions for third term of 2019\/2020 academic session for 4th October 2020 with exception of public boarding schools where only SS2 student’s shall\u00a0 resume on the same day using platooning model.<\/p>

She said, “JSS 1 and 2 are to attend morning classes and SS 1and 2 would attend evening classes. Public primary school schools 1-3 would attend morning classes while primary 3-6 would attend evening classes. While private schools are to opening and operate in line with Covid19 Protocols”.<\/p>\n

” Also, all Tsangaya, Quaranic Islamiyat and faith based schools would open and operate in line with Covid19 Protocols,” the Commissioner remarks .<\/p>\n

She added that the first term for 2020\/2021 academic session will commence from Sunday 3rd January 2021 and urged stakeholders to be up and doing as the the task ahead is demanding.<\/p>\n

Chairman National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Niger State chapter, Mr. Femi Isaac Alalade, in a brief interview with journalists\u00a0 commended the state government for its efforts at reopening of schools.<\/p>\n

He said,\u00a0 “online programme conducted during the lock down was not effective because the pupils are not used to it”.<\/p>\n

Alalade however stated that\u00a0 there will not be waivers or reduction on school fees for parents and guardians for their children and\u00a0 wards\u00a0 since they were going to complete the 3rd term.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
