No fewer than three soldiers and one local\u00a0 vigilante group member have been killed by unidentified gunmen, suspected to be armed bandits who came to attack their victims\u00a0 in their numbers on motorcycles in Yakila village of Rafi local government area of Niger state.<\/p>\n

National\u00a0 gathered that this followed the abduction of a Chinese expatriate staff of a construction company\u00a0 along side with his driver at a construction site\u00a0 in Yakila village of\u00a0 the Council area by the fleeing gunmen recently who fled into the nearby forest\u00a0 to an unknown destination in a bid to evade Police arrest, thereby\u00a0 leading to the deployment of security personnel\u00a0 to the area.<\/p>\n

According to an eye witness who craved for anonymity\u00a0 in an\u00a0 interview by\u00a0 telephone by our reporter, adding that both the soldiers and vigilante member were at Yakila village\u00a0 to rescue the Chinese exprtriate staff\u00a0 and his driver who were abducted by gunmen but lost their lives in an exchange of gun fire with bandits numbering about thirty.<\/p>\n

Again according to another eye witness who told our reporter that two motorcycles were seen inside their\u00a0 Toyota Hilux Van with one arrest made and with the security Operatives tying\u00a0 the\u00a0 suspect’s face with cloth<\/p>\n

The reliable source added\u00a0 that the\u00a0 corpses of the attackers suspected\u00a0 to be bandits were sighted in the busy but cannot tell the exalt number.<\/p>

Consequently, the bandits were said to be heavily armed while they were\u00a0 said to be\u00a0 about with their operational motorbikes, numbering about 15\u00a0 motorcycles with some of their members on top the motorbikes.<\/p>\n

But despite repeated phone calls and text messages, the Image Maker of the Niger State\u00a0 Police\u00a0 Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun for\u00a0 confirmation of\u00a0 incident, he did not respond\u00a0 to the text messages nor picked the phone calls, as\u00a0 the time of filling in this report on Tuesday in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

But responding to the ugly incidence, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello on Security matters Colonel MK Maikudi (retired) confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n
