Against the backdrops of the ongoing investigation by the Federal Government\u00a0 of the suspended erstwhile Acting Chairman of the\u00a0 Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) Mr.\u00a0 Ibrahim Magu, a Chieftain of the Niger state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former commissioner for information, culture and tourism in the state, Mr. Jonathan Tsado\u00a0 Vatsa has called on the federal government to ensure that the findings of the investigation panel was\u00a0 made public.<\/p>\n

Vatsa stated this at the weekend in Minna , the state capital,\u00a0 adding,\u00a0\u00a0 that that\u00a0 was the only way Nigerians can believe and repose\u00a0 confidence in the anti- grafts\u00a0 war of the Buhari-led\u00a0 administration which was\u00a0 already suffering credibility problems because of the way and manner the anti -corruption war was being prosecuted.<\/p>\n

The APC Stalwart in a statement in Minna at the weekend,\u00a0 with the Theme:\u00a0 “now that the hunter is being hunted: Where is the fight against corruption”, just as he\u00a0 opined\u00a0 that the probe of Magu was an embarrassment to the anti- corruption crusade of the ruling APC- led administration at the Centre..<\/p>\n

“This is a clear indication that there are monumental corruption going on in high places in this government. It is quite disturbing because the only qualification that brought APC to power in 2015 was integrity,\u00a0 but the corruption in the system today is very scaring.<\/p>\n

“I urged the federal government to ensure that the outcome of the probe panel is made public for Nigerians to see, that is the only way that the people can believe and have confidence in the anti-corruption war of the Buhari administration.<\/p>

“The anti- grafts\u00a0 war of this government has suffered a lot of credibility problems\u00a0 because of the way and manner it is being prosecuted. This is an opportunity for the government to build confidence in Nigerians by making the findings public,”Vatsa maintained.<\/p>\n

The former state’s publicity secretary of the party in Niger state, further enjoined the federal government to make sure that all those involved in the diversion of the looted funds under EFCC’s\u00a0 custody be exposed and made to face the full wrought of the\u00a0 law.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 “Nigerians are awaiting anxiously for the outcome of the investigation and the next line of action”, he remarks.<\/p>\n

Vatsa therefore suggested that the law establishing EFCC must be revisited because of experience of the\u00a0 past Chairmen of the Anti- graft agency, stressing that with the current structure of the EFCC, whereby\u00a0 men of the Nigeria Police Force and from a particular section of the country\u00a0 were at the helms of affairs will not achieve the desire results<\/p>\n
