Niger state\u00a0 Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Salihu has said that efforts were in top gear towards ensuring that the ministry meets up with the Federal Government’s\u00a0 recommendations and the laid down protocols on COVID-19 for the reopening of schools in the state, adding that series of\u00a0 meetings have been held with critical stakeholders at the instance of the state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello in conjunction with the ministry of Health and Water resources counterpart.\u00a0 being the major players.<\/p>\n

She stated this at the post- Exco Media brief with the journalists at the weekend\u00a0 in Government House, Minna, stressing that efforts were bring made by the state\u00a0 government to\u00a0\u00a0 meet up with the federal government’s\u00a0 recommendations and the COVID-19 protocols were necessary so as not to endanger the lives of the pupils, students and their teachers, on the resumption of schools in the state .<\/p>

The Commissioner,\u00a0 also disclosed\u00a0\u00a0 that the sum of N86 millions\u00a0 was approved by the state g Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello for the repatriation of Almajirai to their states of origins\u00a0 in compliance with the agreement reached amongst the Northern States Governors .<\/p>\n

She stated further that so far, a total of 806 Almajirai were identified from different Islamiya schools in parts of the 25local government areas of the state and quarantined in an Isolation Centre in Minna , the state capital,\u00a0 out of which 557 of them\u00a0 have been successfully reunited with their families after undergoing all routine checks of COVID-19 and given the best humane treatment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
