There is high level of tension in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital and its environs as the supreme court Thursday nullified the candidacy of chief David Lyon,the state’s Governor-elect and APC guber candidate in the recently conducted Governorship election following a suit instituted against his running mate,Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo on certificate forgery.<\/div>\n

Our correspondent who has been following up with events following the apex court judgement the early hours of today reports that no fewer than 20 armoured military vehicles have been patrolling in and around major axis of the capital city of the state immediately after the delivery of the verdict.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Though no official statement has been made from either parties, our sources reveals that decorations earlier made by the APC preparatory for the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow in major parts of the state have all been pulled down.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
However sources say this may not be unconnected to an alleged complaint by the APC Governorship inauguration committee that \u00a0the PDP and its members in the last 8 years have defaced the aesthetic views of the state,especially Yenagoa.<\/div>\n

Sources further \u00a0hinted that the PDP too may not be getting it all over soon as a similar case of certificate forgery filed against the PDP Governorship running mate,Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo by some aggrieved Bayelsans is also raising tensions.<\/div>\n

Our correspondent who was in parts of Yenagoa to get fillers from spectators reveals that many confessed being afraid to go about there businesses following the volatile nature of the state in the recent past which they alleged has been worsened by the less than 24hours to swearing-in day judgement.<\/div>\n

A cross section of Bayelsans interviewed on the Supreme court Judgement preferring anonymity say they would be watching to see the outcome of similar electoral cases in the court which emanated from the party primaries and Governorship election in the state as many more are still pending in various court of Laws,which is an indication that there is more to expect from the 2019 Bayelsa state Governorship polls.<\/div>\n

Meanwhile reports reaching us through our sources in the state Government house say that there is serious jubilation presently ongoing in the seat of power.<\/div>\n
