An Igbo\u00a0 Socio- Cultural Organization, ‘Igbo Delegates Assembly’ ( IDA) the umbrella\/leadership body of all Ndigbo , living in the 19 northern states and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory,\u00a0 has tasked\u00a0 all the geopolitical zones\u00a0 in the country, including all the political parties , as well as all the political stakeholders, all the traditional institutions\u00a0 and every other relevant body in Nigeria, to sincerely consider zoning the Presidency\u00a0 of the country\u00a0 to the South East,,\u00a0 come 2023.<\/p>\n

It made the call in a Communique issued at the end of it’s quarterly meeting in Minna, Niger State capital last Friday after what it described as a successful, fruitful and progressive delibrations on the way forward for both the Ndigbo\u00a0 and Nigeria, adding that this singular appeal was in line with the principles of equity, justice and fairness.<\/p>\n

The Communiqu\u00e9, signed by both the President General and Secretary General of the organization, Chief Chikezie Nwogwu and Comrade Austin Ofokanzi Ifedinezi, copies of which were made available to journalists in Minna, on Wenesday, said,\u00a0 this call, “if agreed upon by the other geopolitical zones in the country, that it\u00a0 will make the south east, geopolitical zone a major block in Nigeria, feel a sense of belonging in the development affairs and desired unity of our great nation”.<\/p>\n

IDA, considered as\u00a0the second largest organized Igbo\u00a0socio-cultural body in the world after Ohanaeze\u00a0 Ndigbo world wide, stated further that\u00a0It was\u00a0 on record, that no south easterner,\u00a0 has been given the opportunity to lead the nation as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, just as it promised among other issues,\u00a0 to remain committed and resilient in contributing to the socioeconomic\u00a0\u00a0growth of wherever they reside in the country.<\/p>

The Communiqu\u00e9, further disclosed that some of the issues raised, discussed\u00a0 and\u00a0 resolved at the Igbo Delegates Assembly held in Minna, last Friday was among others, the resolve to continue to seek and explore all available legitimate avenues to
\nprovide security and welfare for its people living in northern\u00a0Nigeria, in particular and host communities and every other person
\nliving wherever they were domiciled, in general.<\/p>\n

“We also resolved to continue to seek and promote, the best ways to coexist,
\npeacefully and harmoniously with our host communities and other\u00a0citizens and to work closely with both states and federal governments,\u00a0 including our resolve to work witg traditional Institutions and every other body necessary for peace and
\ntranquility.<\/p>\n

“Additionally, we resolved to\u00a0\u00a0develop and engage all available channels of communications with\u00a0relevant Institutions for ease of interactions and dissemination of\u00a0information which will enable the expected effective prompt actions
\nand deliveries” .<\/p>\n

The Communique, thereby expressed deep appreciation and thanked the government of Niger state\u00a0 and the good peopleof the state for the security and warm reception availed to them\u00a0throughout their\u00a0 stay\u00a0 in the state and prayed that such peaceful
