{"id":34376,"date":"2019-09-03T15:05:42","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T14:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=34376"},"modified":"2019-09-03T15:05:42","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T14:05:42","slug":"why-cassava-bread-is-not-in-the-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/why-cassava-bread-is-not-in-the-market\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Why Cassava Bread Is Not In The Market\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President, Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria,\u00a0Dr. Victor Iyama, says millers\u2019 penchant for wheat in bread production continue to militate against realisation of calls for cassava bread production in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Iyama told\u00a0News Agency of Nigeria\u00a0on Tuesday in Abuja that in spite of the sustained campaigns by the association to discourage wheat importation, millers had remained adamant.<\/p>\n<p>He said that stakeholders still showed lack of interest in the use of cassava flour for bread production.<\/p>\n<p>Iyama noted that the campaign over the years had been for bakers to include only 10 per cent of cassava flour to their bread recipe to discourage importation of wheat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cassava bread this is still on. However, most of the millers are not interested in the cassava bread issue.
