{"id":33367,"date":"2019-07-17T23:08:18","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T22:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=33367"},"modified":"2019-07-17T23:08:18","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T22:08:18","slug":"police-arrests-robbers-who-killed-a-couple-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/police-arrests-robbers-who-killed-a-couple-in-ogun\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrests Robbers Who Killed A couple In Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Sokoya Folake<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The police in Ogun have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a couple in Sagamu area of the state.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Seventy-two-year-old James Olaosebikan and Esther Olaosebikan, 68, were allegedly murdered by unknown assailants on June 30, 2019, in their house at Kilometer 54, Lagos &#8211; Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to their son, Joseph Olaosebikan who reported at Sagamu Police Station, the assailants accessed the house through the ceiling and butchered his parents with a machete.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Upon the report, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Bashir Makama ordered the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Sagamu, SP Okiki Agunbiade, to fish out the killers within the shortest possible time.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In a press statement signed on behalf of the state Police Commissioner by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the\u00a0 DPO and his men embarked on a technical and forensic investigation of the case and their efforts yielded positive result on July 12, 2019, when three members of the gang namely \u2013 Ibrahim Uthman, Aba Abdulkareem and Abdulhamid Ibrahim were apprehended.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Oyeyemi stated further that upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were members of a robbery gang and that one of their members, now at large, invited them for the purpose of robbing the deceased as well as a nearby shop.
