{"id":32966,"date":"2019-07-04T13:49:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-04T12:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=32966"},"modified":"2019-07-04T13:49:46","modified_gmt":"2019-07-04T12:49:46","slug":"lagos-pipeline-explosion-caused-by-vandals-nnpc-boss-baru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/lagos-pipeline-explosion-caused-by-vandals-nnpc-boss-baru\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos Pipeline Explosion Caused  By Vandals\u2014NNPC Boss, Baru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has directed its team of engineers to immediately investigate and commence repairs caused during Thursday\u2019s pipeline explosion\u00a0at Ijegun, a Lagos suburb.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ndu Ughamadu, the Group General Manager, Public Affairs of NNPC told the\u00a0<em>News Agency of Nigeria<\/em>\u00a0in Abuja that the explosion was caused by vandals and the Group Managing Director, Dr Maikanti Baru, has directed the corporation\u2019s team of engineers to resume at the fire scene and redress the situation.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ughamadu, \u201cThe fire was ignited when some vandals were scooping fuel from the pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge everybody within the community to remain calm as the situation is under control.
