The Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) has been awarded\u00a0<\/span>the \u2018<\/span>Best Ground Handling Company in West Africa<\/span>\u2019<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The award was given at the<\/span>\u00a05th<\/span>\u00a0e<\/span>dition of the Balafon Travel Awards held at\u00a0<\/span>La Palm Royal Beach Hotel,\u00a0<\/span>Accra, Ghana<\/span>. The award is to recognize\u00a0<\/span>individuals and corporate bodies who have excelled in Aviation, Travel and Tourism and who have contributed immensely to the growth of Aviation, Hotels Business, Tourism and Travels in West Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the organizers,\u00a0<\/span>SAHCO bagged the award because of its outstanding activities in sustaining functional and efficient operations, adding value to cargo and the travel industry.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>SAHCO has<\/span>\u00a0also<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>been recognized due to the significant role it is playing in not only driving the aviation and cargo agenda of the organisation and country, but catalyzing the growth of tourism in the sub region and also helping forge ties between the countries in the sub region and Africa with a view to en<\/span>hancing Regional tourism and<\/span>\u00a0global tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>award, a segment of<\/span>\u00a0Accra\u00a0<\/span>Weizo<\/span>\u00a0which holds annually was instituted in 2009 by the publishers of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>ATQ News<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0organized in partnership with AKWAABA African Travel Market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>At t<\/span>he event<\/span>, the Managing Director of SAHCO,\u00a0<\/span>Mr.<\/span>\u00a0Basil Agboarumi<\/span>\u00a0who was representing the Vice Chairman of SAHCO, Barr Chike Ogeah,<\/span>\u00a0had<\/span>\u00a0a Paper presentation<\/span>\u00a0on \u2018<\/span>Seamless T<\/span>ravel in West Africa: Challenges and prospects of inter-connect<\/span>ing West Africa\u2019<\/span>. He spoke about how seamless travel is a major contributor to passenger experience and customer retention in Air Travel Market. He also said that other contributors are Civil Aviation rules, immigration process<\/span>es<\/span>, ticket fares and airport\u00a0<\/span>facilities<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr.<\/span>\u00a0Basil Agboarumi emphasized that a seamless t<\/span>ravel experience in West Africa<\/span>will be the beginning of open doors for the West African countries in terms of import and export<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>
