Tropical Arctic Logistics Limited (TAL), an air logistics company that owned the helicopter that lifted passenger stuck on the Lagos-Benin expressway said it conducted life-saving operations.<\/p>\n

The company said it is licensed by the NCAA to cover MEDIVAC emergency evacuation services and \u201chas been conducting life-saving operations with the Flying Doctors Scheme on land and Sea.\u201d<\/p>\n

Engr. Femi Adeniji, COO of Tropical Arctic, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the management was surprised owing to several reports surrounding the airlifting of a passenger.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were therefore surprised when our attention was drawn to several reports making the rounds on Social media as well as unfounded statements by some News houses about our AW 139 Aircraft making an unauthorized diversion on the Lagos- Benin expressway just to pick an individual caught in the gridlock.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish to state emphatically and in very clear terms that TROPICAL ARCTIC LOGISTICS is licensed to carry out MEDIVAC Operations and was engaged to airlift an individual who suffered a serious health challenge while caught in traffic and needed emergency evacuation on the said day in question,\u201d Engr. Adeniji said.<\/p>\n

Engr. Adeniji said the Benin-Ore road evacuation was conducted in close collaboration with Security agencies; the Army and Police working to clear the gridlock caused by the on-going road construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey directed us to a clear portion of the road where the operation was handled free from any incident,\u201d he explained.<\/p>

During the week, social media went into a frenzy over various reports over a helicopter lifting a certain individual stuck in hours-long traffic on one of Nigeria\u2019s connecting expressways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year TAL acquired an aircraft and President of the outfit, Emperor Chris Baywood Ibe told the public that the company is a game changer in the aviation industry in Nigeria.President of the indigenous airline operating, Ibe at the interactive session with the press last July during the unavailing of its newly acquired AW139 helicopter advocated that the Federal Government should ensure and enforce initiatives to support indigenous investors for sustainable business growth which would ultimately impact positively on job creation and other socio-economic benefits.<\/p>\n
