Frontline chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party for kolokuma\/opukuma local government area of Bayelsa state, Mrs Mamungha Erefa Zuoere says if elected as chairman in the July local government polls that she would amongst other projects and priorities work towards the empowerment and capacity building for women of the area.<\/p>\n

Erefa made these assertions Monday in Yenagoa when chatting with newsmen, stressing that though women have been allotted 35% affirmative action it was not enough as the women of Kolokuma\/Opukuma would surpass that when she is elected.<\/p>

The Sabagreia-born politician who prides herself as the only female chairmanship aspirant across the eight local government areas of the state maintained that though she is contesting for the topmost executive office in the local government area in an all men primaries, she is convinced the plethora of endorsements from both students, women groups and political stake holders of the area would play to her advantage, reemphasizing that she would become the first elected female local government chairman of kolokuma \/ opokuma, just as she said governor Dickson in his magnanimity has advocated for more women in government and politics.<\/p>\n

The chairmanship hopeful promised an all embracing government under her stewardship when the electorates of the area give her their mandate come July 27th<\/sup>, 2019, saying most of her male contenders are bent on intimidating her.
