The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has canceled the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result (UTME) conducted in the month of April 2019, owning to the site of the commission being allegedly hacked.<\/p>\n

According to a notice cited by nationalwire <\/em>on Friday, <\/em>signed by the JAMB chairman, Prof Is-haq Olanrenwaju Oloyede, the board said due to the incident that occurred, \u201cwe are sorry to announce to this year\u2019s candidates that the exams shall be taken place again from the 20th<\/sup> of May 2019-26th<\/sup> May 2019\u201d.<\/p>\n

The notice reads further that \u201cso candidates are advised to go for their reprint for the upcoming exams once the board announce the date for reprint. Once again sorry for the inconvenience\u201d, he added<\/p>\n

JAMB had on two occasions postponed the release of the examination held between April 11 and 18.<\/p>\n

A report had earlier hinted that JAMB may cancel as much as half of the results of its 2019 university admissions exams in some states of the federation.<\/p>\n

The report which quoted an official of JAMB, who requested anonymity to be able to discuss JAMB\u2019s delay in releasing results, expressed disgust at the massive malpractice recorded during the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that held between April 11 and 18.<\/p>

The source said while all parts of the country took part in cheating, the situation was worse in some. He said the \u201cfearless display of fraudulent tactics by some individuals including parents and centre owners,\u201d would leave many people dumbfounded.<\/p>\n

While giving reasons for the delay in the release of this year\u2019s UTME results by JAMB, the source said Nigerians would be shocked if they were privy to the recordings from the Closed Circuit Television cameras installed across the about 700 centres used during the examination.<\/p>\n

He said at least 50 per cent of centres in some states would likely have their results canceled.<\/p>\n
