{"id":31341,"date":"2019-04-16T13:08:42","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T12:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=31341"},"modified":"2019-04-16T13:08:42","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T12:08:42","slug":"bayelsa-2019-brass-agge-foropa-others-to-have-roads-mmn-guber-candidate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/bayelsa-2019-brass-agge-foropa-others-to-have-roads-mmn-guber-candidate\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayelsa 2019: Brass, Agge, Foropa Others To Have Roads&#8212;MMN Guber Candidate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Ariwera Ibibo-Howells, Yenagoa.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bayelsa state Governorship candidate of the Masses Movement of Nigeria (MMN), Mr. Jones Okiah says if elected as Governor come November 2019 that the hinterlands of the state would be linked with roads.<\/p>\n<p>Okiah who also doubles as the Party\u2019s acting state chairman made the promise Thursday in an interview with Journalists in Yenagoa.<\/p>\n<p>The Guber candidate, a retired, consummate environmentalist of the Bayelsa state civil service who still plies his profession in the private sector argued that successive administrations in the state have deliberately unlinked the far riverine communities of Brass, Akassa, Agge, foropa and Ezetu amongst others with their contemporaries in other parts of the state, citing flimsy and avoidable excuses.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>The MMN Governorship standard bearer berated the Governor Serieke Dickson\u2019s administration for not being labour friendly, saying there was no reason as to why the Governor should sack workers in the state civil service. He harped that if elected his first priority would be the reinstatement of all the civil servants sacked by the outgoing administration.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cI wonder why this Government would sack workers, in a state where there is high level of unemployment, if I am elected, my first priority will be to bring back all sacked civil servants back to work and pay them all that is due them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to Okiah the number of years he put into the civil service and his position before retirement gave him an edge over every other Guber hopeful in the forthcoming polls, stressing that under an MMN administration a better and workable Bayelsa is realizable, describing the allocation and other revenues accruing to the state as enough to change the face of the state in terms of development.<\/p>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x1 pg-1h2 pg-1y1 pg-1ff1 pg-1fs0 pg-1fc0 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\"><em><strong>Photo Caption: Mr. Jones Okiah, MMN Gov.
