Following the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing aircraft crash yesterday, management of Air Peace Airline has said that the 10 units of brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 it ordered have not been delivered.<\/p>\n

In a statement by its Corporate Communications Manager, Chris Iwarah, the airline said it thought it imperative to clarify the air over the order it placed for the aircraft manufactured by the same firm that sold to the Ethiopian carrier.<\/p>\n

“We are, however, yet to take delivery of the aircraft as we are still at the design and configuration stage of the order,”said the statement. “This clarification has become necessary in view of numerous calls and enquiries on our response to the incidents involving the B737 Max 8 aircraft.”<\/p>\n

The airline said it considered it premature to comment on the incidents but assured members of the flying public that it was closely following and monitoring developments on the issue with Boeing, adding that it “prioritises the safety and well-being of our customers.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The aircraft manufacturer Boeing is currently facing further questions over the safety of its 737 Max 8 jet as Ethiopian Airlines has joined carriers in China and elsewhere in grounding the planes after its second fatal crash.<\/span><\/p>

The moves has caused apprehension among the flying public who have now been led to believe that their is a major defect in the\u00a0 Boeing aircraft engines, leading to major air mishaps involving some airliners.<\/p>\n


\nAir Peace said while it keeps engaging with partners in this regard, it has confidence in Boeing and aviation authorities to “capably and satisfactorily address all the issues if at the conclusion of ongoing investigations it is discovered that the challenge is with the B737 Max 8.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n


\nIt, however, urged members of the flying public to continue to choose Air Peace as their “preferred airline and trust the company to always act in their best interest.”<\/span><\/p>\n
