Special fraud unit of the Nigeria Police force has filed amended criminal charge against a legal practitioner Barrister Chito Ezeani, a businessman Linus Uchenna Okoro, and a limited liability company Amazing Grace properties and agency alleged to have been involved in obtaining by false pretence.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the amended seven count criminal charge number FHC\/L\/163C\/2018 filed before a Federal high court in Lagos by the Police prosecutor Chukwu Agwu, it was alleged that Barrister Chito Ezeani 56, Linus Uchenna Okoro 65, and Amazing Grace properties and agency with intent to defraud and by false pretences conspired together to commit felony to with, obtaining the sum of N9,840,000 through their bank account in three different banks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The three accused persons and their company were also alleged to have obtained the sum of N6.5million from one Theophine, Enemuo, and N3.5million from Clement Oyekalu, through the bank account of Barrister Chito Ezeani while falsely representing that he had the right connections, influential persons and contacts within Governments of Anambra State of Nigeria who were capable of lobbying for the renovation, lease and management of a property known as ANAMBRA HOUSE situate at number 27\/29 Martins street Lagos Island and that the money so obtained represented the cost and expenses to be used for the actualization of the approval and award of the contract.<\/span><\/p>\n

Linus Uchenna Okoro was alleged to have collected N2million through his Access bank account by inducing one Paul Mbanusi by falsely representing to him that the documents for the approval and award of contract by Anambra State Government for the renovation lease and management of Anambra State House situate at 27\/29 Martins street Lagos island, Lagos will be ready within the last week of the month of June 2013 and that the said money was needed to collect from Anambra State Housing corporation, all the documents involved in the said contract.<\/span><\/p>

The offences alleged to have been committed by the accused persons are contrary to and punishable under section 1@ and 8@c of the advance fee fraud and other related offences Act of i2006.<\/span><\/p>\n
