Police on Friday paraded 16 suspects for killings and harvesting sex organs of innocent people, selling same for ritual purposes in Ankpa town and environs of Kogi State.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, police said the leaders of the suspects have acquired properties suspected to be from the proceeds of the crime.<\/p>\n

The atrocities of the suspects also included the killing of a Police Inspector, Abdul Alfa, of the Ejule Police outpost in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State, while on foot patrol. <\/p>\n

Leader of the gang, 39-year-old Yakubu Hamidu, who is also the Vigilante Commander of Ankpa, and his members confessed to the crime and admitted that they were working for one Abdulahi Ibrahim, Ali also known as Halims and Alhaji Shaibu Adamu, also known as Aye-Marina, according to the Police.<\/p>\n

Ali is suspected to have used the proceed of crime to build and own so many properties including big hotels and several fuel stations in Kogi State.<\/p>

Also, Adamu, who according to the Police is without a known profession or means of livelihood, was suspected to have built and own mansions and four fuel stations in Ankpa and another four in Onyangede in Benue State with the proceeds of the crime.<\/p>\n

Some of their victims include James (other names yet to be known); Christopher (other names yet to be known); Mohammed (other names yet to be known); Small Case (real name unknown) and Omu (other names yet to be known).<\/p>\n

Inspector Alfa was said to have been ambushed and axed on his head to death from behind by Julius Alhasan and his gang on November 28, 2017, before carting away his Police rifle.<\/p>\n

“Investigation is being concluded and efforts being intensified to arrest other suspects who include prominent personalities linked to the crime but still at large,” said the statement. “They will all be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
