The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Idiat Adebule, on Tuesday ditched Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to support Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the race to pick the ticket to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 governorship election.<\/p>\n

Mrs Adebule spoke with journalists at Ward A and D in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos, where she participated in the governorship primary of the APC.<\/p>\n

She said would endorse the candidate chosen by the party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe party has chosen a man and it is that man that I will support and follow,\u201dshe said.<\/p>\n

The News agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that when the deputy governor arrived at the ward, some of her aides came with Sanwo-Olu\u2019s posters and banners.<\/p>\n

At the ward, accreditation started at about 10.36 a. m.as party electoral officials arrived.<\/p>

There was no formal announcement of the results as the accreditation was brief.<\/p>\n

Many party members at the venue started singing the praises of Mr Sanwo-Olu.<\/p>\n

Reports trickling in indicated that Sanwo-olu is leading with a wide margin in many parts of the state,including Alausa,the seat of government.<\/p>\n

Sahara Reporters also reported that there was a disagreement between the loyalists of both candidates in Epe where Ambode’s supporters disagreed with the number of accredited voters.<\/p>\n
