The Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, Lokogoma, Lokoja has donated eight 50kg bags of rice to flood victims in the state.<\/p>\n

This is the church\u2019s gesture to cushion the effects of the recent flooding in Kogi State.<\/p>\n

The donation of the foodstuff on Thursday in Lokoja was a development welcomed by the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.<\/p>\n

State Pastor of the Church, Ben Oluyemi at the hostel accommodating the IDPs in Wada Estate, Lokoja said, the Church\u2019s gesture is a way of alleviating the sufferings of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came here to represent our father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo whose custom is to always help the needy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here with his permission to help the flood victims. We are donating the foodstuff to be of help to the Christians and the people of other religions to give the flood victims a helping hand,\u201d he added.<\/p>

\u201cThe Church is the light of the world that is delivering the world out of poverty, lack, sickness, diseases and from all oppressions of the devil,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He further said the mandate of the Church is to liberate the world from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith.<\/p>\n

The delivery of the eight bags of rice was taken by the camp leader, Mr. Umar Zakari on behalf of the displaced persons and commended the Church for the gesture. <\/p>\n

He however implored the Church to keep praying for the state and Nigeria for divine intervention. He also appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Winners Chapel and reach out to flood victims in the state.<\/p>\n

Over 200 communities were displaced by the flood in Kogi State and the government has opened up 25 camps to cater for the victims in the 10 Local Government Areas affected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
