id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13939\">According to information by online report, the MoU is for two years in the first instance with effect from the date the parties append their signatures and may be renewed yearly based on mutual agreement.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13943\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13944\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13945\">The MoU aims to share best practices, expertise in port operations, management strength, communication, cooperation on investment and promotion.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13948\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13949\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13950\">Other fields include innovative techniques, personnel, infrastructural and port scientific technical development to \u201cjointly promote effective logistics, trade and information.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13953\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13954\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13955\">The MoU was signed in Abuja by NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman and the Deputy Director-General of Guangzhou Port Authority, Yuan Yue, at the ongoing meeting of International Association for Ports and Harbours (IAPH).<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13958\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13959\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13960\">Also, the MoU is designed to enhance Port capacity for the service of regional economy on non-committal basis.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13963\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13964\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13965\">Under the arrangement, the parties shall cooperate with each other especially in the areas of logistics, Port industries, Port Culture and will endeavor to support each other to open a representative office where necessary in furtherance of the objective of the MoU.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13968\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13969\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13970\">Part of the MoU read: \u201cThe parties will contribute jointly towards advancement of Green Port development and cooperation on port environment protection, energy-saving and emission reduction.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13973\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13974\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13975\">\u201cThe parties will establish an information exchange mechanism to regularly update each other on new development and popularise the application of information technology at the ports.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13978\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13979\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13980\">\u201cThe parties will establish training programmes for management staff and technical specialists and planned exchanges for management staff of each other.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13984\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13985\"><span id=\"m_6225788505716574531yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1537295455613_13986\">\u201cFriendly exchanges should be carried out in the general areas of expertise such as loading and unloading mechanism and equipment, electrical facilities, safety, engineering, <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span
