{"id":23697,"date":"2018-05-18T13:00:35","date_gmt":"2018-05-18T12:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=23697"},"modified":"2018-05-18T13:00:35","modified_gmt":"2018-05-18T12:00:35","slug":"inec-lists-40-for-july-14-ekiti-governorship-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/inec-lists-40-for-july-14-ekiti-governorship-election\/","title":{"rendered":"INEC Lists 40 For July 14 Ekiti Governorship Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A total number of 40 candidates on the platforms of various political parties are to contest for the governorship seat of Ekiti State on July 14.<\/p>\n<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday published the names of candidates who emerged from the primary conducted by their parties.<\/p>\n<p>Their names were forwarded to the electoral umpire to beat the May 15 deadline for the receipt of candidates\u2019 names.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) is fielding the incumbent Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola while Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi is running on the platform of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>Two women are among the candidates jostling for the Ekiti governorship seat. They are: Mrs. Margaret Ilesanmi of Accord (A) and Olajumoke Saheed of Democratic Alternative (DA).<\/p>\n<p>On the list of candidates are: Comrade Shola Omolola of Action Alliance (AA), Mr. Lawrence Ogundipe of Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD), Dr. Jide Ayenibiowo of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Mr. Olaniyi Agboola of Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Chief Ayodele David Adesua of African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>Also on the list are Otunba Segun Adewale of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Mr. Lucas Arubuloye of AGA, Mr. Stephen Oribamise of All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP), Rev.
