The Lagos State Police Command has arrested five pipeline vandals accused of tampering with NNPC pipeline at the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba.<\/p>\n

According to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi, the suspects were arrested based on information received and analysed by the intelligence arm of the command.<\/p>\n

The CP said that the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Ops Decoy Team were dispatched to the scene to prevent economic sabotage and possible outbreak of fire.<\/p>\n

“Five suspects were arrested and recovered at the scene were; two 33,000 litre tanker lorries without registration plate and one Mahindra motorcycle with NNPC plate.<\/p>\n

” After arresting the suspects, the command contacted the NNPC Maintenance Unit to repair and stop the leakages while the police and the Fire Service men were on standby to protect o ves and property.<\/p>

“Members of the public are enjoined to watch out for vandals and give us information about their activities to security agents as lives saved may be that of relations or friends.” he said.<\/p>\n

In the same vein,10 traffic robbers who specialises in dispossessing motorists of their possessions at Charity Busstop, Oshodi were also rounded up by policemen.<\/p>\n

CP Imohinmi made it known that the hoodlums were traced to their hideouts where they were arrested with a toy gun.<\/p>\n

He added that the police is working towards arresting other members of the gang and urged victims of traffic robbers to visit the Command to identify the suspects which will make it possible for the suspects to be kept where they belong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
