{"id":22897,"date":"2018-04-12T22:31:45","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T21:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=22897"},"modified":"2018-04-12T22:31:45","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T21:31:45","slug":"airport-roadoshodi-interchangeothers-year-end-gifts-contractors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/airport-roadoshodi-interchangeothers-year-end-gifts-contractors\/","title":{"rendered":"Airport Road,Oshodi Interchange,Others Year End Gifts&#8211;Contractors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Contractors handling major projects across Lagos State, Thursday, assured that the construction works would be completed before December 2018 as &#8220;special end-of-the-year gifts to residents and visitors&#8221; to the state.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-lane Airport Road and the Pen Cinema Flyover would be completed by December while the Oshodi Transport Interchange would be delivered by September,according to the contractors.<\/p>\n<p>This is as the network of roads in Ilaje and Bariga, as well as a new jetty, through which Ikorodu, Apapa, Lagos Island, Badagry, Ajah and Epe could be linked via the waterways, would be ready much earlier in July.<\/p>\n<p>The contractors spoke separately during an extensive inspection tour of the projects by Governor Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the U-turn flyover point along Airport Road after being briefed by Messrs Hi-Tech Construction Company, the Governor appealed to residents to bear with government for the inconvenience being experienced as a result of the construction work.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;We have just seen the progress of work on the Airport Road. I want to appeal to all Lagosians to bear with us. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have been assured by the contractor that this project will be part of our Christmas gift; it will be ready before Christmas and we should be able to use it in conjunction with the Oshodi Bus Terminal.&#8221;<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>The Governor also reiterated that the Oworonshoki Lagoon reclamation is designed to transform the &#8220;blighted area&#8221; to major tourism, transportation and entertainment hubs, contrary to reports in the media that the project was not a housing scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor also inspected the ongoing network of roads linking Bariga to Ilaje and a new jetty,giving commendation to the contractor handling the project, Messrs Avatar Global Resources Limited.<\/p>\n<p>Other projects inspected included the new Model College in Sabo area of Yaba to complement the Angus Model College in Shomolu.<\/p>\n<p>Others are the Maternity Centre in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja popularly known as Ayinke House.<\/p>\n<p>The Ayinke House is a 162-bed space facility  expandable to 250.
