The last has not been heard about the crisis sparked by the land tussle in Igode area of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State during which the peace of the area was disturbed while some members of the Olota family were allegedly attacked.

National Wire <\/a>had broken the news when the crisis erupted few weeks ago while the peace of the area was threatened. Due to the comments made by one of the alleged attackers of one of the Olota family committee members, Chief Solabi\u2019s family in Igode via Sagamu, Mr. Wasiu Sikiru in the Igode Land fracas in our recent publication, the family committee members in charge of the affairs of the Olota family in Igode have come out to tell their own side of the story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alhaji\u00a0 Abayomi Adaboyan, Baale Itunlosi Igode who is from the Olota family committee said Wasiu Sikiru and his gang are children of the Olota family and that he is yet to fathom the reason they have decided to invite land grabbers to the family land causing serious unrest within the family. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On why some of the family members decided to take the family committee to court, the Baale, Alhaji Adaboyan said he cannot say anything about the land matter because the case is already in court but mentioned that Wasiu and his gang have been using police officers to terrorize the committee leaders before taking them to court. <\/span><\/p>\n

He explained further that on the 8th<\/sup> of April, the day they were all supposed to go to Abuja, Wasiu\u2019s team that claimed they wouldn\u2019t be able to make the appointment, went with another set of policemen to arrest me after arresting Olotu and Apena. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey thought I was inside and so they scaled through my fence broke my windows, tore my window nets, and stole the family file that I was brain storming on and the sum of \u20a6200,000 that I collected from Access bank around 11am<\/span> on 7th<\/sup> April, 2017.\u00a0 According to my sister and wife who were at the other building, the policemen came with Wasiu and Idris Elegbeji alias Sigaba, Wasiu Afolabi and Gbenga Owolewa and about 20 others. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey forcefully entered my house and beat up my sister who protested that the police have no right to allow hoodlums do their job for them.\u00a0 It was when I was informed of what was going on in my compound that I called my elders sister and wife and told them to go and make a report at Sagamu Area Command but they were told to go to Igbogbo division but again, they were turned back at Igbogbo to go and report at the division where the policemen came from, but nobody knew were they came from except Wasiu and his gang that brought them to my house. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI came back home that evening and took pictures of my windows that were destroyed. It was later that day that I found out that they took them to ZIS office. Olotu and Apena were granted bail and we were asked to come on the 11th<\/sup> of April. Before the 11th<\/sup>, I contacted family members and committees that were available and we went to a media station to tell the story of what happened. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOn the long run we had a meeting with ZIS boss, Gbenga Megbope and the meeting was postponed and we were asked to come with all evidences but on the day we were supposed to meet, Wasiu team didn\u2019t show up and we later got to know that we have been charged to court to protest infringement on their fundamental human right, the family won the case because the case was struck out on 25th of July, 2017 but the land case is still ongoing so I can\u2019t talk about it.\u201d Baale explained. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the attack on Apena\u2019s family, Baale said he heard about it but didn\u2019t witness the incidence because he had left Igode since 27th<\/sup> of March 2017. \u201cI heard that Apena\u2019s family was attacked and that he was also arrested. I had to leave Igode, 16 miles from where I stay presently in Ikorodu for safety because it was obvious that my life was at stake.
