{"id":21395,"date":"2018-02-14T12:09:29","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T11:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=21395"},"modified":"2018-02-14T12:09:29","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T11:09:29","slug":"government-clears-oregun-opebi-bridge-road-rehabilitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/government-clears-oregun-opebi-bridge-road-rehabilitation\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Clears Oregun-Opebi Under Bridge For Road Rehabilitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Folake Sokoya <\/p>\n<p>Lagos States Government has served a 21-day &#8216;Eviction Notice&#8217; to all mechanic workshops under the Oregun-Opebi link bridge to pave way for the  commencement of roads rehabilitation under the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi,disclosed that the 21-day &#8216;Eviction Notice&#8217; served on these illegal mechanic workshops would expire on Sunday, March 4, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Egbeyemi hinted that activities of these mechanics had seriously constituted environmental nuisance as used oil and contaminated diesel as well as waste water from car-wash were freely dislodged on roads.<\/p>\n<p>He complained that the canal under the Oregun-Opebi link bridge was filled with mechanic scraps, used tyres and refuse generated by residents around the area, which may eventually lead to flood whenever it rains.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>The Chairman reiterated that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode increased the number of mechanic villages across the State from 20 to 42 in order to create more jobs for artisans and other young people who will be willing to acquire skills as automobile mechanics.<\/p>\n<p>Egbeyemi stated that these 42 mechanic villages were spread across the State to accommodate more mechanics and other complimentary artisans such as vulcanizers, rewires and panel beaters.<\/p>\n<p>He stated further that miscreants and hoodlums terrorising innocent members of the public around Oregun, Opebi and Allen Avenue have now turned these illegal mechanics workshops under the bridge to criminal hideouts.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman,therefore, warned all mechanics operating on all road set-backs and walk-ways across the State to immediately vacate and move to any nearby mechanic village closer to them as anyone caught violating any section of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Law would be seriously death with.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Folake Sokoya Lagos States Government has served a 21-day &#8216;Eviction Notice&#8217; to all mechanic workshops under the Oregun-Opebi link bridge to pave way for the commencement of roads rehabilitation under the bridge.
