Nigerian Army said its troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole have continued to record success in clearing the vestiges of Boko Haram from the Camp Zairo as they had contact with the insurgents and recovered battle tanks and other weapons from the terrorists on Tuesday.
\nAccording to the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, the encounter occurred during the ongoing clearance operations nicknamed Operation DEEP PUNCH II.<\/p>\n

On \u201cTuesday 30th January 2018, the advancing troops had contact with Boko Haram terrorists and engagement ensued,\u201d Usman said in a statement.<\/p>\n

During the encounter, the statement added the troops \u201cwere able to recover an Eagle Main Battle Tank (EMBT), 1 VBL, 1 AK-47 Rifle, a Police Teargas Rifle, religious books, many Gas cylinder and bags of fertilizer, ostensibly for Improvised Explosives Devices making.\u201d<\/p>

This is as the troops also destroyed seven gun trucks, four trucks, five Hilux trucks, one Prado SUV, one Golf car, four Mitsubishi pickup trucks, one Hiace bus, several motorcycles, makeshift shelters, ‘tentages\u2019 and household items, according to him.<\/p>\n
