The growth and development of the nation\u2019s economy are something good for both Nigerian and American businesses and the United States will continue to support Africa\u2019s largest economy in finding new avenues for growth,Consul General,John Bray, has said.<\/p>\n

Bray said this on Monday during the Closing Gong Ceremony of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) where he went to \u201clearn firsthand\u201d how the NSE is operated and hear about Nigeria’s “successes and challenges in this exciting economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U.S Government maintains a limited number of Bi-National Commission (BNC) relationships with nations to demonstrate \u201ca high degree of friendship, trust, and cooperation\u201d and Nigeria is one of those nations, Bray said further.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from the U.S. Consulate in Nigeria, the Consul General was at the floor of the NSE to express the U.S. government\u2019s deep commitment to Nigeria\u2019s private sector and economic growth. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a clear message that the United States (both the Government and the private sector) is committed to supporting Nigeria as it continues to find new avenues of economic growth and development. The more Nigeria\u2019s economy grows, the better it is for both Nigerian and American businesses,\u201dBray said.<\/p>

He noted that open and transparent financial exchanges are an example of a society’s broader commitment to the rule of law and sanctity of contracts and applauded leaders of the NSE for \u201ctireless efforts in meeting the needs of the Nigerian investor community and playing a critical role in Nigeria\u2019s economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bray, therefore,expressed optimism about the future growth of the Nigerian Stock Exchange as he noted 2017 \u201cwas a very successful year as the NSE was ranked amongst the top five performers.\u201d<\/p>\n
