The Parliamentary Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Delta State House of Assembly chapter,has passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,in what it has described as a welcome gift from the Christmas and New Year.<\/p>\n

PASAN also affirmed the Association’s happiness on members of the Assembly team of management for their interest in the welfare of the staff of the state legislature.<\/p>\n

These were contained in a letter of commendation by the Chairman of PASAN, Delta State, Comrade Emma Edozie, presented to the Speaker for his “outstanding and sterling leadership qualities and welfare of staff.”<\/p>\n

Comrade Edozie stated that the staff of the state House of Assembly have never had it so good, stressing that the workers no longer embark on protests before getting what is due to them.<\/p>\n

He particularly commended the Speaker for the Christmas bonus to staff and the payment of outfit allowance; stressing that his emergence as head of the state legislature has brought hope and positive changes to the state Assembly.<\/p>\n

The PASAN Chairman stated that the presentation was to welcome him back to work after the Christmas and New Year break, and to reassure him of their commitment and support to his leadership of the House.<\/p>

Responding, the Speaker commended the workers for their renewed commitment to excellence and urged them not to relent in that regard.<\/p>\n

While returning all glory to God for the achievement recorded in about eight months as Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Oborevwori thanked the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for all the approvals.<\/p>\n

He also paid glowing tributes to his colleagues, stating that their unalloyed support accounted for the love and unity of purpose in the state legislature.<\/p>\n

The Speaker reassured the staff that what is due them will surely get to them, adding that the Okowa-led administration was committed to the welfare of workers in the state.<\/p>\n
