The 1991 Old Students Association of Titcombe College, Egbe, Kogi State have laid the foundation of a 200-seater examination hall for the college.<\/p>\n

The project said to cost the old students N10million is to be delivered within a year.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the 1991 set, Mr. Eludayo Eluyemi said the association considered the gesture necessary in a bid to give back to the institution established in 1951.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have several projects in the pipeline but we want to start with the examination hall,\u201d he said,\u00a0 adding that, \u201cWe will equally meet with the school management to ascertain their needs so as to avoid a repetition of project.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eluyemi also told the current students of Titcombe College established by the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) to be serious with their studies for a better future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, secondary school is the basic foundation; it prepares one for future\u00a0 endeavours. Whatever we are today was because we passed through Titcombe College, so whatever one learns in secondary school will guide him or her in future,\u201d Eluyemi said.<\/p>

Appealing to other old students who are yet to identify with the association, Coordinator of the Abuja zone, Mr. Kenneth Bamisaye, who said the project would be ready for use in one year also said the association has over 100 members and each of them is to contribute N50,000 for the project.<\/p>\n

Encouraging members of Titcombe College 1991 set who are not as buoyant, Bamisaiye said, \u201cWe want all the members of the 1991 set to be part of this project even if it is N1,000 that they can contribute we will understand their financial status.\u201d<\/p>\n

Principal of Titcombe College, Mr. Johnson Onirinwa appreciated the support from the 1991 set.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs big as the school is, it does not have modern examination hall. I want you to bear in mind that some enemies of progress will blame and criticise you for assisting your alma-mater. I urge you not to listen to them instead continue to do your best, for everything, there is reward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
