{"id":16652,"date":"2017-08-21T11:26:34","date_gmt":"2017-08-21T10:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=16652"},"modified":"2017-08-21T11:26:34","modified_gmt":"2017-08-21T10:26:34","slug":"faac-fg-36-states-share-n2-56trn-6-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/faac-fg-36-states-share-n2-56trn-6-months\/","title":{"rendered":"FAAC: FG, 36 states share N2.56trn in 6 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u2026 Akwa Ibom, Lagos, 8 others top list<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0Federal Government, 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have so far shared N2.56 trillion in the first half of 2017 from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), an investigation by Economic Confidential has revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Diligent search and careful computation by the Economic Intelligence magazine showed that apart from the federal government that got N1.09 trillion, Akwa Ibom has the highest allocation among the states with N92.72 billion within the period under review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The nine other states leading the pack are Lagos, in the second position with N91.45 billion; Rivers came third with N81.41 billion while Delta came fourth with N71.98 billion. Kano State dared the fifth place with N62.90 billion, throwing a derivation state of Bayelsa to the sixth position with N61.45 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Others in the top 10 are Katsina State in the seventh position with N44.80 billion, Oyo eighth with N43.78 billion, Kaduna ninth with N42.60 billion and, surprisingly, in the 10th position was Borno State with N39.63 billion despite the calamities that had befallen the Northeastern state.<\/span><\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The Economic Confidential search further revealed that the states with the lowest allocation from the federation account within the period under review are Gombe, which occupied the 36th position with N24.87 billion, followed by Ebonyi state with N24.91 billion in the 35th position, Nasarawa State, 34th with N25.41 billion while Ekiti and Kwara states took the 33rd and 32nd positions, respectively, with N25.57 billion and N26.48 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">A graphic look at the six geopolitical zones in the country showed that the South-south states put together hit the number one position in the federal allocation within the period under review with N368 billion, the Northwest took the second position with N283 billion, sending the Southwest states to the third position with N262 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The North Central geopolitical zone got N190 billion to stand at the fourth position, while the fifth and sixth positions went to Northeast and Southeast with N189 billion and N154.7 billion, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The Economic Confidential has been at the forefront of dishing out federation account allocation figures of all tiers of government for the benefit of Nigerians in the last decade.<\/span><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2026 Akwa Ibom, Lagos, 8 others top list The\u00a0Federal Government, 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have so far shared N2.56 trillion in the first half of 2017 from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), an investigation by Economic Confidential has revealed.
