Baale of Oshoko village at Ibeju-Lekki and three others have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for killing a policeman and burying his body.<\/p>\n

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni who briefed journalists at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ikeja on issues bothering on security on Wednesday August. The suspects were arrested following an incident which happened in Nov. 2016.<\/p>\n

“Last year, on Nov. 25, 2016, one Insp. Musa Sunday attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) had disappeared from Ibeju-Lekki while performing his responsibility.<\/p>\n

“During an Anti-Kidnapping patrol, Insp. Sunday and other members of his team were alerted to a fight between two families which they responded.\u00a0Getting to the crime scene, unfortunately and callously, one of the communities involved turned against the SARS team and at the end of the day Insp. Sunday did not return.<\/p>\n

“The next day, I led a detective team to the community to appeal to the religious leaders, traditional heads and members of the community to release the policeman which they denied having in their custody.<\/p>

“With the technical support of Intelligent Response Team (IRT) headed by DSP Philip and sustained detective activity, as we speak, Insp. Sunday’s body has been recovered with his AK-47 rifle which was buried somewhere along the waterway.<\/p>\n

“Four suspects has been arrested among which is Baale of Oshoko village.” he said.<\/p>\n

The CP added that investigation had revealed that the Baale led other suspects to take oath of secrecy including two of his sons who are still at large.<\/p>\n

Owoseni said that the suspects will be immediately arraigned and reiterated that the law does not respect anyone as the police will use this to send message to criminals under guise.<\/p>\n
