The newly elected National President of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria{ALGON} Alhaji Gambo Tanko Kagara has called on the Federal Government to \u00a0urgently begin the process of ensuring \u00a0full implementation of\u00a0 autonomy to 774 Local Government Councils across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The ALGON national \u00a0President, \u00a0who is also the incumbent Chairman of Rafi Local Government of Niger state and the state\u2019s \u00a0Chairman of ALGON, made the call shortly after his election as the new national President of the association at NICON Luxury Hotel, Area 11, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Alhaji Gambo Tanko Kagara also called for speedy acceleration of good governance at the grassroots level as well as commending the Federal Government for its commitment to the revival of the nation\u2019s economy, presently in recession following the recently passing into Law\u00a0 the \u201c ease of doing business\u201d in Nigeria by\u00a0 the Acting President , Professor Yemi Osinbajo and prayed for quick recovery and good health of President Muhammadu Buhari who is presently in the United Kingdom for medical treatment .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new ALGON national\u00a0 President, thereby promised that the new leadership of the association at the Centre are competence to turn the fortunes of the association around\u00a0 through constructive engagement of members to embark on the implementation of programmes that have direct bearings on the people at \u00a0their respective local governments in parts of the country with the view that ordinary citizens enjoyed the dividends of democracy in their respective locations across the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Alhaji Gambo Tanko Kagara also assured of his leadership\u2019s unalloyed loyalty , determination and the vision to transform ALGON , in order to achieve the association\u2019s unlimited opportunities through the adoption\u00a0 of \u00a0open door and transparent policy by his administration at the centre .<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0He however commended the role played by the association\u2019s caretaker committee, led by its Chairman and his predecessor in office, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Karai, from Kano state, just as he expressed appreciation for the roles played by the Niger state Governor, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello and thanked other states governors across the country for their supports to see the conduct of free, fair and credible election\u00a0 recently held\u00a0 by the association .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, those elected to serve in different capacities \u00a0with Alhaji Gambo Tanko Kagara as the new \u00a0National President , ALGON, include Hon.
