{"id":15167,"date":"2017-07-06T17:10:19","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T16:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=15167"},"modified":"2017-07-06T17:10:53","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T16:10:53","slug":"emenike-e2m-olympiakos-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/emenike-e2m-olympiakos-move\/","title":{"rendered":"Emenike in \u20ac2m Olympiakos move"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Super Eagle striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has become the sixth Nigerian player to star for Olympiakos of Greece, after sealing a \u20ac2m move to the Greek giants from Fenerbah\u00e7e of Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Emenike, 30, follows in the footsteps of Rashidi Yekini, James Obiorah, Haruna Babangida, Michael Olaitan and Brown Aide Ideye as the latest Nigerian to line out for the side, who is rated among the traditional big wigs of the Greek Super League.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after Emenike endured a torrid time at Fenerbahce especially with the fans, and at a point the striker threatened to walk out of a game due to boos from fans of his own team.<\/p>\n<p>His relationship with the fans, coupled with his poor form made the team send him out on loan two seasons ago, firstly to Al-Ain of the UAE and later West Ham before his return to the team before the start of last season.<\/p>\n<p>He failed to nail down a spot in the team after a brilliant start, and was at a point in time banished from the first team before an apology lead to his reinstatement in February.<\/p>\n<p>Heavily linked with a move to Ukraine side Shakhtar Donestk, Olympiakos won the race for his signature and he pen a two-year deal with the Greek champions with the option of another year.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>Incidentally, respected Turkish journalist Kadir Onur Dinker of Milliyet has likened Emenike to former Chelsea star Didier Drogba.<br \/>\nDinker, however, advised the Greek champions to employ a psychologist who will closely monitor Emenike due to his frequent conflicts with teammates, coaches and fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dHe also faced some problems with the Nigerian Federation, so he had to withdraw from the national team though he is young,\u201d Kadir told gazzetta.gr.<br \/>\n\u201dIn general, I can say that he is a very sensitive character that is psychologically affected. For me Olympiakos should hire a psychologist to watch him in order to be focused.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIf he has good relationships with his teammates and fans of Olympiakos, he can be the best player in the Greek league.
