Police detective, Abba Kyari has warned Nigerians to beware of rumour making the rounds about the notorious kidnapper, Chukwudi Onwuamadike alias Evans.<\/p>\n

Kyari who addressed the public via his Facebook page cleared the air on rumour making the rounds about Evans and the techniques employed in nabbing him.<\/p>\n

\u201cFriends, there is a need to clear the air on some issues that are misinforming\/misleading the good members of the public who are passionate about fighting crime,\u201d he posted Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Kyari, whose team after years of hard work finally arrested Nigeria\u2019s most wanted kidnapper, Onwuamadike at his Magodo estate mansion stated further that \u201c90 percent of all information relating to the arrest of Evans and what Evans said that are being shared on social media and some print media are false.\u201d<\/p>\n

The police officer posted that like many other Nigerians, he wakes up each morning to read different false stories on social media relating to how the kidnapper was arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe actual strategy we used in arresting Vampire, Evans and other big kidnappers is known to only me and very senior officers I am working together with in the FHQ,\u201d he said, adding that a kidnapper like Evans would never have been arrested based on the few technics that were officially mentioned or The ones Circulating in Social Media which are actually techniques already known to criminals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve gone ahead of those technics. Our real strategy and technology used in picking Evans and his gang members have never been mentioned to the media or members of the public, and will never be mentioned,\u201d he assured.<\/p>\n

The police boss also added that for Evans not to deny of ever acquiring or operating a kidnapper\u2019s detention camp in future, he was made to face the media.<\/p>

\u201cEvans faced the media twice; first when he was paraded in the Lagos Command HQ by the Force Public Relations Officer and secondly when he took IRT Detectives to his detention Camps in Lagos for the world to witness him taking the Police to his camp that only him and his boys knows,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

Kyari however urged members of the public to rely more on information from authentic sources. \u201cPlease I urge members of the public to focus more on what they see or hear from major newspapers and television stations who have names to protect and avoid the avalanche of lies and fictions that is coming out from blogs and social media every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concluding, he posted, \u201cYes we agree Evans is the biggest and most notorious criminal arrested during the social media age in Nigeria, but there should be some decree of decorum and honesty in reporting news please.
