{"id":13319,"date":"2017-05-18T11:46:52","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T10:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=13319"},"modified":"2017-05-18T11:46:52","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T10:46:52","slug":"med-view-airline-shareholders-commend-nse-listing-dividend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/med-view-airline-shareholders-commend-nse-listing-dividend\/","title":{"rendered":"Med-View Airline shareholders commend NSE listing, dividend"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em><strong>As Major blue chips record growth on NSE<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Med-View Airline Plc shareholders on Wednesday lauded the board and management for listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange\u00a0 (NSE) in spite of challenging operating environment.<\/p>\n<p>The shareholders stated this at the company\u2019s first Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>They also commended the management for 3k dividend declared for the financial year ended Dec. 31, 2016 and authorised the raising of additional capital via debt instruments, preference shares or ordinary shares.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Nnona Awoh, a shareholder, lauded the company for seeking quotation at the most difficult time in the Nigerian Stock market.<\/p>\n<p>Awoh said that the company took the bold step to list its shares on the NSE to allow Nigerians to be part owners in spite of the market situation.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the shareholders were very pleased with the company for getting dividend in less than four months of listing.<\/p>\n<p>Awoh, however, urged the company to ensure timeliness of its proposed capital raising exercise for maximum subscription.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Boniface Okezie, National Cordinator, Progressive Shareholders Association of Nigeria (PSAN), called on the company to protect the interest of the shareholders and ensure strict compliance to good corporate governance.<\/p>\n<p>Okezie said that airline companies that were listed on\u00a0 the NSE\u00a0 in the past had not been friendly to the Nigerian shareholders.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that Med-View must be different in order to boost shareholders confidence, noting that the company needed fresh funds\u00a0 to execute bigger businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Patrick Adidua, another shareholder,\u00a0 said that the company achieved a giant stride by listing the airline on the exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Adidua said that shareholders reposed their trust on the management by buying into the company in spite of past experiences.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the management not to disappoint the shareholders, noting that, they would support the company to achieved the desired growth and development.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji Muneer Bankole, Med-View, Chief Executive Officer, said that the company would consolidate on its past achievements in 2017, especially in Hajj operations.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center;
