An Ile-Ife Magistrate\u2019s Court in Osun on Wednesday granted N100, 000 bail to each of three accused persons charged with assault and stealing of oranges.<\/p>\n

The accused persons are: Bisiriyu Ojuade, 55; Salisu Ojuade, 45, and Simiat Ojuade, 43.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode also ordered the accused persons to swear to affidavits of means with each of them affixing their two recent passport photographs to them.<\/p>\n

Ijiyode said the sureties must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and their addresses must be verified by bailiff.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 2, 2017 around 10 a.m. at Balogun Ojuade village, near Ile-Ife.<\/p>\n

Ojiezele said that the accused assaulted one Olubola Ajibade by beating her with cutlass which left her with injuries all over her body.<\/p>

He alleged that the accused unlawfully entered into the farm belonging to Ajibade and stole oranges valued at N400, 000.<\/p>\n

According to him, the offence is contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Sections 390 (9) and 251 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.<\/p>\n

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault and stealing.<\/strong><\/p>\n
