Notorious Fraudster who claims to be IGP’s “Brother” nabbed by the Police in Niger state<\/p>\n

A middle-aged man, who has been parading himself as the \u201cbrother\u201d of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Ibrahim Idris Kpotum has been arrested in Minna, the Niger state capital.<\/p>\n

The man, whose real name was given as Baba Muhammed, was arrested at the Sauka-Kahuta area of the state capital recently, after defrauding an unsuspecting member of the public.<\/p>\n

The state Command\u2019s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the arrest of the fake brother of the IGP, said the suspect duped one Alhaji Abubakar Dogonyaro of Tunga low cost area of Minna, the sum of N380,000.<\/p>\n

According to Elkana, in a Press statement made available to the newsmen, in Minna on Friday, the suspect, Baba Muhammed had told his victim that his brother the IGP, wanted to give out a N250 million contract and that if he could part with N380,000, he would help in ensuring that the victim’s company was awarded the contract.<\/p>

The victim, the police said, paid the money but after sometime that he could neither get the contract nor refund of his money the case was reported to the police.<\/p>\n

Elkana stated further that investigation into the incident had commenced while the suspect would be charged to court very soon.<\/p>\n
