Nigeria\u2019s national senior football team, the Super Eagles have emerged 40th position globally and 5th on the continent in the latest FIFA ranking for the month of March.<\/p>\n

According to Fifa.com, the Super Eagles trailed Burkina Faso which are 4th in Africa and 35 in world ranking.<\/p>\n

African champions, the Pharaohs of Egypt are 19th globally and 1st on the continent. The Egyptian national team is followed by the Teranga Lions of Senegal who are placed 30th in global ranking.<\/p>\n

The Dakar team is followed keenly by another group of lions; the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun who made the 33rd global position in March.<\/p>\n

Closely following the Super Eagles is the Congo Democratic team who are 41st in global ranking.<\/p>\n

Cathage Eagles of Tunisia is directly behind the Congolese and 42nd global position.<\/p>\n

Two West African rivals occupying 45th and 48th positions globally respectively are the Black Stars of Ghana and the Elephants of Cote d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>

World football giant, Brazil dethroned arch-rivals Argentina and returned to the summit of football\u2019s world rankings for the first time in almost seven years.<\/p>\n

World Cup qualifying wins over Uruguay and Paraguay put the resurgent Selecao top for the first time since the 2010 World Cup with 1,661 points in the latest list of FIFA.<\/p>\n

As Brazil qualified as the first team for the 2018 tournament in Russia, South American rivals Argentina are struggling and lost their last game in Bolivia slipping to second in the rankings.<\/p>\n

Current world champions Germany maintained 3rd position followed by Chile in number four.<\/p>\n

Macedonia were the biggest movers climbing 33 spots to finish at 133rd.<\/p>\n
