{"id":11972,"date":"2017-04-03T13:19:23","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T12:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=11972"},"modified":"2017-04-03T13:19:23","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T12:19:23","slug":"fmdq-otc-records-n20-99tn-transactions-in-two-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/fmdq-otc-records-n20-99tn-transactions-in-two-months\/","title":{"rendered":"FMDQ OTC records N20. 99tn transactions in two months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange recorded N22. 99tn worth of transactions in fixed income and currency markets in the first two months of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Market Turnover Report from the company on Monday indicated that the value was against N13.92tn recorded in the corresponding period in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of the new report showed that transactions in Treasury Bills (TBs) contributed the highest of N11.60tn to the turnover.<\/p>\n<p>It was trailed by repurchase agreements\/buy-backs which accounted for N5.22tn worth of transactions, while foreign exchange derivatives had N2.43tn worth.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government bonds had N2.35tn worth, while foreign exchange recorded N1.19tn worth.<\/p>\n<p>10 leading member banks dominated activities in the FMDQ market during the period with Ecobank Nigeria leading the pack.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>Access Bank came second on the activity chart and was followed by UBA, Stanbic IBTC, First Bank, FBN Merchant Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Union Bank, Diamond Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The report said that the top 10 dealing member banks accounted for 70.97 per cent of the transactions amounting to 16.31tn of the overall turnover.<\/p>\n<p>Ecobank Nigeria, Access Bank and UBA maintained their positions for the second month running as leaders in OTC market, ranking first, second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange recorded N22. 99tn worth of transactions in fixed income and currency markets in the first two months of 2017.
