The men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Adeoye Ikugbayigbe, for killing a 72year old woman, Funmilayo Shada and severing her head.<\/p>\n

The suspect was arrested after the son of the deceased, Ekundayo Shada lodged a complaint at the Abigi police Divisional Headquarters on March 17, 2017, that while he was on his way to the farm around 10.00 am to meet his mother who had earlier gone to the farm, he met Adeoye Ikugbayigbe on the road holding a polythene bag but dropped the bag in panic as soon as he sighted the him, and ran into the bush.<\/p>\n

According to Ekundayo: ” i became suspicion and quickly ran to check my mother but could not find her. I now went back to check the bag only to disvover that he had killed my mother and cut of her head and her wrist.That was when I quickly went to make a report”. He explained in tears.<\/p>\n

Ekundayo was said to have reported the case around 2.45 pm, prompting the DPO Abigi Division, SP Komolafe Omoniyi to lead detectives to the scene, combed the surrounding bush and finally got the suspect arrested.<\/p>

On interrogation, ikugbayigbe confessed to committing the crime claiming that he has been having running battle with the deceased over a portion of land.<\/p>\n

The severed head and the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the mortuary, while the cutlass he used has also been recovered.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Homicide section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) ELeweeran for further investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
