The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christianpilgrim commission (NCPC), Rev Tor Uja has said that Africa could overcome herlanguage barrier with good language policy.<\/p>\n

He disclosed this in Abuja during a dinner in hishonour by the Cote d\u2019voire Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Nee ToureMaman.<\/p>\n

He stressed the need for the intervention of boththe Nigeria and Cote d\u2019voire government to strengthen the language policy toincorporate both English and French in their language policy to easecommunication and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries andother countries in Africa.<\/p>\n

He assured his host that he would embark onspiritual visit to Cote d\u2019voire with some of his management staff to exploresome of the holy sites in the country.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the time had come to break thelanguage barrier with Cote d\u2019voire, adding that there was need to take boldsteps to address language issues in Africa.<\/p>\n

Rev. Uja explained that for Africa to come togetherthere was need to overcome language issues and overcome territorial boundaries.<\/p>\n

He commended African countries for the stabilizationin their political growth and development through stable democracy whichaccording to him encourages political parties to develop good programmes.<\/p>\n

He affirmed that Africa has enough resources foreveryone to be comfortable if the resources are used judiciously for the people<\/p>

Speaking, the Cote d\u2019voire Ambassador to Nigeria,decried a situation whereby money meant for the people in Africa are embezzledand taken away to foreign land. She called for more robust cooperation betweenAfrican countries so as to move the continent forward.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador also affirmed that Africa is blessedwith rich natural and material resources sufficient enough to take care ofevery African.<\/p>\n

She further stressed the importance of language toboth countries.<\/p>\n

He explained that because of the need to easecommunication flow among African countries, the Government of Cote d\u2019voire someyears back introduced bilingual language policy which enables an averageIvorian to communicate in both English and French.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that the Ambassador hadseverally visited NCPC to solicit the cooperation of the commission to exploreHoly sites in Cote d\u2019voire.<\/p>\n
