A 49-year-old man, Ajibade Adefioye, was on Wednesdayarraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly raping andimpregnating his landlord\u2019s daughter.<\/p>\n

The accused, who resides at 32, Shittu St., Dopemu, Agege,a suburb of Lagos is standing trial for rape.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court thatthe offence was committed at the apartment of the accused.<\/p>\n

Ogu said that the victim, a 15-year-old girl, used towatch films at the accused apartment.<\/p>\n

He said that the victim told her parents the accused rapedher and was responsible for her pregnancy.<\/p>

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenedSection 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.<\/p>\n

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted theaccused bail of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the caseuntil March 22 for hearing.<\/p>\n
