{"id":11375,"date":"2017-03-07T14:19:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-07T13:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/?p=11375"},"modified":"2017-03-07T14:19:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T13:19:09","slug":"kaduna-airport-ready-for-24hrs-full-operations-ncaa-ethiopian-airlines-to-arrive-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/sub\/kaduna-airport-ready-for-24hrs-full-operations-ncaa-ethiopian-airlines-to-arrive-first\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaduna Airport Ready For 24hrs Full Operations \u2013 NCAA \u2026Ethiopian Airlines To Arrive First"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that the Kaduna International Airport, Kaduna is now fit and ready for 24 hours local and international operations.<\/p>\n<p>According to the agency in a statement to <em>nationalwire <\/em>on Tuesday, it said all necessary steps to ensure that the status of the Airport as an Alternate Airport to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, (NAIA), during the closure have been put in place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe navigational aids have been well calibrated and fully functional to facilitate continuous smooth landings and take-offs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, towards a seamless flight operations in line with Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs), all relevant departments and directorates with full complement of staff have been redeployed to Kaduna from the aviation agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Regional Managers of NCAA Abuja and Kaduna offices are on ground to allow for smooth integration of the additional staff coming to Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>On the safety measures put in place, NCAA said \u201cTo sustain the safety and security of airline operations, a team of Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASI) from the Directorate of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS), Directorate of Consumer Protection, (DCP), Directorate of Air Transport Regulations (DATR), Directorate of Aerodrome and Airspace Standard, (DAAS) and Aviation Security Personnel are already at the airport.<\/p><div data-ad-id=\"32665\" style=\"text-align:center; margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px;float:none;\" class=\"afw afw_ad_image afw_ad afwadid-32665  \">\r\n                                                            <div style=\"font-size:10px;text-align:center;color:#cccccc;\">Advertisement<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accessbankplc.com\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"auto\" max-width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/nationalwire.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Banner-1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n                                                                        \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe National Security Committee has designed and got approval for the Security programme to cover the airport and its environs during the six weeks closure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the relevant aviation agencies, the Regulatory Authority, (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Customs and Excise, (NCS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Police Force and other security services etc are all at the airport to provide unhindered facilitation of passenger traffic and flights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the commencement of flights, it is expected that the Ethiopian Airlines (ET) will be the first scheduled airline to arrive the Kaduna International Airport upon the closure of Abuja Airport\u201d, it added.<\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) will close the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, (NAIA), effectively midnight of Wednesday (tomorrow) to allow for extensive repairs on the runway.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that the Kaduna International Airport, Kaduna is now fit and ready for 24 hours local and international operations.
