While the African Cup of Nations tournament continues in Gabon without the Nigeria’s Super Eagles who failed to qualified for Africa’s biggest football fiesta, the Nigeria\u2019s national Division One football league is set to commence the 2016\/2017 soon.<\/p>\n

According to the Executive Secretary of Nationwide League One (NLO), \u00a0Olushola Ogunnowo, the league commences 22nd March.<\/p>\n

Ogunnowo, in a statement in Abuja on yesterday added that the league\u2019s Division Two would hold from April 5 to June 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Division Three will hold from June 27 to July 3.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

He said the inspection of stadiums to be used by participating clubs would commence on 3 February.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be zonal seminars for the league\u2019s participants on Feb. 27,\u2019\u2019 the Executive Secretary said.<\/p>\n

He also said players\u2019 medical examination would hold from Feb. 1 to Feb. 28.<\/p>

\u201cAlready, we have on going the online registration of players which commenced on Jan. 20, the payment for clubs\/account reconciliation and collection of players\u2019 licence,\u2019\u2019 Ogunnowo said.<\/p>\n

He further said the return of approved players\u2019 registration would commence in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NLO Board met and approved the annual calendar of activities for the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn view of this, the NLO secretariat advises all clubs to please adhere strictly to the timing of the programme as there won\u2019t be room for any extension due to the crowded activities for the season.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
