The Police in Niger have said it has arrested no fewer than 21 notorious Kidnappers and Cattle rustlers in parts of the state,while about\u00a0 447 cattle, 90 sheep and\u00a0 assorted weapons have also been recovered from the hoodlums.<\/p>\n

The Police Public Relations Officer Niger State Command, DSP Bala Elkana stated this in a Press statement made available to journalists yesterday in Minna, the state capital.<\/p>\n

According to him, last Wednesday,\u00a0 at about 10:37hrs, on the strength of information, the Police raided a den of Kidnappers at Tegina, Rafi Local Government of the state, while\u00a0 five suspects were arrested and one locally made pistol was also recovered.<\/p>\n

He stated further that same day,\u00a0 at about 1400hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Police arrested one of the most wanted Cattle rustlers identified as Abdullahi Alh Alti of Ejinga Randege, Birnin Gwari Local Government of\u00a0 Kaduna state, at Kagara, in Rafi\u00a0 Local Government Area\u00a0 of Niger State, sressing that\u00a0 the suspect was linked with rustling of over 500 cattle at Runga and Tegina<\/p>

The release stated further that last Saturday at about 04: 00hrs, on the strength of information, the Police raided Cattle rustlers den at Pongu Daji in\u00a0 Lapai Local Government of the state, where three suspects namely Rabe Bello,\u00a0 Mohammed Aliyu. and Adamu Mallam\u00a0 were arrested. Just as two\u00a0 double barrel guns, 124 rustled cattle and 36 sheep were recovered.<\/p>\n

Similarly, on Sunday,\u00a0 at about 0600hrs, in a well-coordinated operations that lasted for Six hours\u00a0 at Rugan Mugu and Dogon Ruwa, a boundary community with the\u00a0 Federal Capital Territory\u00a0 Abuja, notorious for cattle rustling and kidnapping activities in Lapai LGA, 12 notorious Kidnappers and Cattle rustlers were arrested<\/p>\n

The suspects, according to the release includes one\u00a0 Alh Muhammadu Muhammad (Ring Leader and the most wanted criminal from Zamfara state); Abubakar Shehu, including one\u00a0 Muhammadu Mamman,\u00a0 Abubakar Dikko,\u00a0 Umaru Shehu,\u00a0 Umaru Babuga,\u00a0 Aliyu Mohammed,\u00a0 Muhammadu Mati,\u00a0 Muhammadu Dengi,\u00a0 Abdullahi mohammadu, Lawali Muhammadu\u00a0 and Abubakar Muhammadu.<\/p>\n

Elkana noted that the exhibits recovered includes: 253 rustled Cattle, 56 Sheep\u00a0 and various kinds of assorted weapons and charms.<\/p>\n
