Vigilantee Kills Herdsman As Esan Village Comes Under Attacks

In what appears to be herdsmen orchestrated attack on Esan South-East Community was aborted as vigilant Vigilantee Group neutralised one of the bandits while others are on the run.

It was learnt that the Vigilantes while on routine patrol around Eko- Oghenyen- Ahia- Udakpa communities accosted three motorcycles with two occupants in each of the bikes.

On sighting the vigilantes, the occupants of the motorcycles who were later discovered to be herdsmen opened gun fire on the Vigilantee.

It was further gathered that ad a result, the herdsmen immediately fled the scene while the vigilantes gave them a hot chase amid exchange of gun fires and in the process, one of the herdsmen was gunned down.

Items recovered from the herdsmen included one unmarked motorcycle, one AK-47 assault multi-purpose rifle with 20 live rounds of ammunition and charms.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased herdsman has been deposited in the morgue by men of Ubiaja Divisional Police Station.
