Son Hacks Father To Death, Buries Corpse In Shallow Grave

A 26-year-old Chisom Ogum, has been arrested by a combined team of Police operatives attached to Umunze Division and local vigilante group at Umuomaku Community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State for killing his biological father.

It was learnt that the suspect allegedly ran amok in a circumstances yet to be ascertained, attacked and killed his own father, Christopher Ogum, 70, of same address with a shovel and buried him in a shallow grave.

After commiting the crime, the suspect attempted to escape before he was apprehended and beaten to stupor by angry mob who equally forced him to exhume the corpse of his father from where he buried it.

Meanwhile, when police detectives visited the crime scene, they photographed the victim and conveyed the remains to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor at Umunze general hospital.

Consequently, the offensive weapon used in perpetrating the offence was also recovered as exhibit and the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP John B.Abang, has ordered for the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation
