Robbers Operating in Tricycle Arrested by Anambra Police Command

…recovers offensive weapons

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command on Saturday overwhelmed a robbery syndicate, dislodged and recovered offensive weapon from them.

As a result, two suspects, Ocha Chinonso, 23, of Mgbuke Village, Umunachi and Chidubem Emmanuel, 22, of Umusiome Nkpor were arrested.

The two robbers were nabbed about 8:32am while operating with dangerous weapons at
Abagana end of Nimo junction in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State following a distressed call.

The Police operatives attached to Abagana Division in conjunction with local vigilante group from Umudunu village had responded and rushed to the scene and engaged the criminals.

Meanwhile, exhibits recovered in their possesions included two Pump Action gun, one short double barrel gun, three catridges and one Keke tricycle.

According to SP Haruna Mohammed, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson said the
case was under investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution
