The Niger State Police Comnand has said that over 4,000 plain cloth and uniform personnel have been deployed to churches, motor parks, recrearion centres and amusement parks across the state in an effort to ensure hitch free Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.

It also assured both indigenes and  residents in parts of the state that the security measures being put  in place would guarantee peace and tranquility  before, during and after the Christmas and New year celebrations.

The Command  stated this in a Press release  signed and made available to newsmen by its Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO)  Mr.  Peter Sunday, an Assistant Superintendent of Police ( ASP)   on Friday in Minna, the state capital.

The release added  that the Command has also mapped out strategies to secure lives and properties of the citizenry, with a view to ensuring   a peaceful Yuletide celebrations throughout the state.

ASP  Peter Sunday,  specifically stated that  the Command  has provided adequate security at all entry and exit points of the state as well as mapped  out strategies to check all forms of security threats throughout the state.

He said the command  has put no fewer than 4, 000 plain cloth and uniform Operatives on the red alert as well as  deployed the personnel  to churches, motor parks,  recreation centres and amusement parks across  the state by ensuring that they  work round the clock to ensure a hitch free celebration.

The Command however reminded all Nigerlites on the need to maintain law and order before, during and after the forth coming  festivities, just as it felicitates with the good people of the state and wished them a joyful Christmas and a Prosperous new year  in advance.
